I have heard so many great things about Pinterest that I knew I had to check it out.  I ended up thinking it is a great idea and just had to sign up.  It is as great as they say it is.  It is a way to mark all of those ideas that you see online and to store them using an image essentially as the link so you can have it handy for future reference.

Here are some of the great things I have found on Pinterest.

By the way, if we don’t make a photo similar to the photo immediately above, I will most definitely cry!

Random, yet awesome.  Right?

Click her to see my Pinterest.  After signing up it took about a week for me to get my signup details and now I am in LOVE!

Hello there.  I wanted to quickly stop by to give you a down and dirty, no pretty picture, quick update on two things.

1-My shellac is on day 11 and looks great.  I have one teeny tiny little chip that I can file down and my nails are growing out a bit, but the polish itself looks great.  I tried to snap a photo, but my iPhone doesn’t do them justice.

2-I promised to make the shoe challenge more of a challenge this week and I will.  I just need to catch up on photos and I will be back on track.  Stay tuned!

Sorry about the lag in posting.  Have a great day!

Hello my pretties.  I hope you have all been well.  April has proven to be a bit challenging at times, but I refuse to remain anything but positive.  Despite all of the rough times, there have been great moments.  I turned thirty on the 18th and was so spoiled for my birthday.  For example, I have this lovely just waiting to be hung in my dining room.  A beautiful gift from my husband.

My husband also thew me an amazing surprise party at one of our old favorite bars.  There was live music and the best friends and family a girl could ask for.  I was thoroughly surprised, spoiled and recognized just how blessed I truly am.

On the morning of my birthday, my lovely in laws got up early to place signs all across my front lawn to let the neighborhood know I am now thirty.  It was a great surprise to wake up to, as it had me in fits of giggles.  They also got me something I have been lusting after.  Yes, Big Joe (doesn’t everyone name their camera) will now live in this beauty and I shall look like a tourist no more!

My parents gave me just what I asked for, but you will have to wait some time to see the results of their perfect gift.  Just know that it is perfect.

My friends know me so well and were incredibly generous.  Not only did I get a pickle card filled with lottery tickets, and an amazing owl statue, fleur des lis cookie cutters (how did you know I have always wanted some?) but I also got something dear to my heart…..the gift of shoe shopping.  That’s right, a DSW gift card.  I headed there this weekend and came home with these puppies.

Am I a lucky girl or what?  Thanks so much ladies!!  The best part is that I even have enough left to get a strapy pair of heels.  Now, as you will learn soon, this is totally counterintuitive to my upcoming shoe challenge, but there is a method to my madness.

As you can tell my April was much crazier than I thought it would be.  I wasn’t around as much as I had hoped but here is to May!  Stay tuned, details on the shoe challenge are  coming soon!

I’ve Missed You!

Hello my pretties.  I know I have been completely absent and I don’t blame you if you feel abandoned.  I have been dealing with some family issues and have needed to devote myself to my family.  It will probably take me a little while to get back into the swing of things, so bear with me. Just wanted to let you know I haven’t forgotten you.  Keep posted for some fun new stuff.  I haven’t been working on too many projects, although I hope that will change soon.  However, I have been keeping an eye out for fun things to share.  Stay tuned!

Hello my pretties.  I have been missing you and hate to neglect you so.  But unfortunately there are some things in your life that you have to devote every waking second to.  Currently I am experiencing one of those moments and my absence may be a bit longer than I would like.

While I am gone, I would love to introduce you to one of my favorite blogs and recommend that you give it a read and stop in and say hi.  Perfectly Cursed Life is a great blog run by an old school friend.  She is not only hilarious but one of the smartest ladies around.  She shares herself completely through the best and worst of times and I read EVERY day.  Stop by and take a peek.  PCL will entertain you during my absense.

So now a brief update of where I have been.  I am helping my family take care of my Grandma who has been going through a tough time lately.  After having surgery to repair fractures in her back a few weeks ago, she went through rehab only to suffer a setback and have a compression fracture to her spine which means she will not be able to feel or move her lower extremities.  This has been a huge blow to Grandma as although she is 90, she lived alone, used the stairs and was completely independent and mobile.  She was holding my wiggly baby girl not even 8 weeks ago so this is a huge adjustment.  Unfortunately she has still been feeling pain in her back when she moves, but medicine has been helping to manage that.  She was transferred to hospice this week and they are making her as comfortable as possible.  So, since Grandma was first hospitalized my family and I have been spending as much time as possible with her to help her get through the pain.  Aside from the week she was at a rehab facility which was farther away so I was only able to visit minimally, I have been working full time and heading right from work to wherever grandma is to be with her.  I am not able to fix it so I do what I do best and provide love, hugs and kisses, smiles and lots of laughs.  I have missed my husband and daughter, but they have been very understanding and I am blessed with the most supportive family ever.  I was able to tuck Lily in last night for the first time in weeks and it felt good.  She will be spending the weekend on a mini vacation with her Grandparents and I will miss her so much!  I will rest up so I can continue to be the best nurse I know how to be.

If you are the praying type, feel free to send prayers Grandma’s way.

Look at these two pretty ladies, picture taken just three months ago.

I still love you

Hello my pretties.  Just wanted to drop in and say sorry for the light posts.  We went straight from the birthday party to helping out a family member who is in the hospital.  Send healing thoughts and I will be back soon when things calm down a bit.

Thanks for sticking with me through all of this.

Hiya Pretties.  Thanks so much for bearing with my absence well we get ready for my daughters first birthday and big birthday party.  Things have been crazy to say the least.  Especially since all three of us got hit with a really bad cold that stalled progress.

To make it up to you, how about this?  I am in love with this tree bookshelf by Design Artist that I saw over at Centsational Girl.
