Hello my pretties.  I have been missing you and hate to neglect you so.  But unfortunately there are some things in your life that you have to devote every waking second to.  Currently I am experiencing one of those moments and my absence may be a bit longer than I would like.

While I am gone, I would love to introduce you to one of my favorite blogs and recommend that you give it a read and stop in and say hi.  Perfectly Cursed Life is a great blog run by an old school friend.  She is not only hilarious but one of the smartest ladies around.  She shares herself completely through the best and worst of times and I read EVERY day.  Stop by and take a peek.  PCL will entertain you during my absense.

So now a brief update of where I have been.  I am helping my family take care of my Grandma who has been going through a tough time lately.  After having surgery to repair fractures in her back a few weeks ago, she went through rehab only to suffer a setback and have a compression fracture to her spine which means she will not be able to feel or move her lower extremities.  This has been a huge blow to Grandma as although she is 90, she lived alone, used the stairs and was completely independent and mobile.  She was holding my wiggly baby girl not even 8 weeks ago so this is a huge adjustment.  Unfortunately she has still been feeling pain in her back when she moves, but medicine has been helping to manage that.  She was transferred to hospice this week and they are making her as comfortable as possible.  So, since Grandma was first hospitalized my family and I have been spending as much time as possible with her to help her get through the pain.  Aside from the week she was at a rehab facility which was farther away so I was only able to visit minimally, I have been working full time and heading right from work to wherever grandma is to be with her.  I am not able to fix it so I do what I do best and provide love, hugs and kisses, smiles and lots of laughs.  I have missed my husband and daughter, but they have been very understanding and I am blessed with the most supportive family ever.  I was able to tuck Lily in last night for the first time in weeks and it felt good.  She will be spending the weekend on a mini vacation with her Grandparents and I will miss her so much!  I will rest up so I can continue to be the best nurse I know how to be.

If you are the praying type, feel free to send prayers Grandma’s way.

Look at these two pretty ladies, picture taken just three months ago.
